Uh Oh Jar and Blessings Jar

So here is another attempt at making our home run smoother. I have made up these 2 little jars. One is an Uh-oh jar and a blessings jar. If I find a child acting up, being disrespectful, fighting, tattling, etc. they get to pick a slip from the uh-oh jar. These slips contain chores that I might need to be done around the house, mainly ones that I don't want to do. If they complain about having to get a chore from the uh-oh jar, they get another one and will continue to get more chores the more they complain! Crossing my fingers that this works!
And as to not be a complete negative nelly, I decided to do a blessings jar as well. These are for times when I notice one of the kids being extra good. Inside this jar are little rewards, like a piece of gum, chocolate, extra computer time, etc.
I'm hoping this will make me notice more of the positive things my kids do and not just focus on the negative.
Wish us luck!

Clear Your Dishes Update

I'm gonna get real here folks.  Remember this guy?

Um . . . EPIC FAIL!!!! The whole point was for them to remember to clear there dishes without having to be reminded. I'm still having to remind them EVERY SINGLE MEAL!!  I'm going crazy! Any suggestions as to what to do! I don't feel like it's a complicated thing to do. My latest thought is to maybe have an M & M jar and every time they clear their dishes they get an M & M. What do you think?

Potty Training

What kind of mom would I be if I didn't take pictures of potty training?  I knew that when I got back from my Europe trip that I was going to tackle potty training our youngest and that's exactly what I did!  We use the "take your kid to the potty every ten minutes" method until they start to recognize when they need to go.  So we spent a good week close to the porcelain throne.  I couldn't help but snap a few pics.  What else am I gonna use as blackmail when she starts dating?
Now, what potty time experience would it be without an I Phone?
I tried to be sneaky about taking her picture, but I got caught!

"Mom!  Go AWAY!!!! NO PICTURE!!!!"  No lie!!  That's exactly what she said!  Look at that face!  I'm pretty sure I need to do a post on the many faces of this little girl.  She has a plethora of AWESOME expressions.  Another time . . . another post!
